Oedometer test

An oedometer test is a laboratory test that measures a soil's consolidation properties. Oedometer tests are performed by applying different loads to a soil sample and measuring the deformation response. The results from these tests are used to predict how a soil in the field will deform in response to a change in effective stress. Our soil laboratory software “CiviLab” facilitates the processing of the Oedometer test. Also, CiviLab provides high quality reports and archives them properly. In this test, CiviLab supports the following standards:

  • ASTM D3877;
  • XP P94 090-1.

In the Oedometer test you can use CiviLab to:

  • Plot the curves;
  • Compute the compression index Cc;
  • Compute the recompression index Cr;
  • Compute the preconsolidation pressure σ'p;
