Dynamic Penetration Testing is a fast and relatively inexpensive ground Investigation method. It involves driving a cylindrical sacrificial or fixed cone into the ground using a shock hammer. The cone is attached to a 1m section steel rod with a nominal diameter of approximately 35mm and graduation markings set at 100mm or 200mm intervals. Depending upon the chosen method, the drop height can be adjusted. Blows per 100mm or 200 mm are recorded and after every 1m section, a further rod is added and the process is continued until the probe refuses to penetrate the ground or the test reaches the required depth. The result of dynamic Penetration Testing (DPT) is number of blows N, needed to penetrate a cone device to the soil or rock by a so called interval of penetration depth.
In this test, CiviLab supports the following standards:
Our soil laboratory software “CiviLab” facilitates the data processing of the dynamic penetrometer test. Also CiviLab allows you to provide high quality reports and archive them properly.
